Lucinda Nix Starnes, 58, of Pocahontas passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

She was born March 20, 1957, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was a graduate of Fairview High School in Camden, and an inspiration to many during her battle with breast cancer.

Cindy was a faithful pastor’s wife and member of First United Methodist Church Pocahontas, where she sang in the Chancel Choir and served as chaplain of the Randolph County Chapter of the PEO.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Rockey Starnes; sons, Judson Adam Savacool of Little Rock and Michael Caleb Savacool and his wife, Sarah, of Pocahontas; a granddaughter, Abbey Kay Savacool of Pocahontas; her parents, Allen Nix and his wife, Delphia, of Piggott, and Ruth Nix of Camden; a sister, Cathy Reynolds of Camden; nephews, Aaron Reynolds and Micah Reynolds of Little Rock and niece Hannah Reynolds of Camden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rickey Savacool of Camden.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 28, at First United Methodist Church Pocahontas, with the Revs. Bob Hager, Susan Ledbetter and John Fleming officiating. Interment immediately followed the service at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Diane Wilder of Little Rock and her kind staff for their untiring and devoted care during these three years of Cindy’s fight with breast cancer.
